Rockwall ISD serves over 12,000 students in and around Rockwall, Texas. It is the largest school district in Rockwall County and the 83rd largest independent school district in Texas. The district schools are rated Recognized overall by TEA, with facility ratings from Exemplary to Recognized to Acceptable, with no Unacceptable schools (2006). Centered in Rockwall, the district also serves the cities of Rowlett, Fate, McLendon-Chisholm, Mobile City and Heath, Texas, being about half of Rockwall County.
